Approach

I don't start with technology. I start with the constraint — the bottleneck, the budget, the system that can't be switched off — and then choose the least complex solution that survives production.

Most of the leverage is decided before implementation: what gets built, what gets integrated, and what shouldn't exist at all.

  1. Diagnose the real constraint: Map the existing system, workflow, and data to find where the bottleneck actually sits — which is rarely where it is assumed to be.
  2. Decide what should exist: Separate what genuinely benefits from AI, what belongs in deterministic logic, what to integrate rather than build, and what to remove entirely.
  3. Validate before scaling: Prove the risky assumptions on a vertical slice — structured outputs, representative cases, known failure modes — while changing direction is still cheap.
  4. Build for production: Typed boundaries, observability, retries, and recovery paths, so the system stays predictable under real traffic, bad input, and provider failures.
  5. Measure against the constraint: Track latency, cost, and workflow success after release, then tighten what the data shows is weak rather than what merely feels unfinished.
